షేన్ నాజర్ నిరు పేద ముస్లిం కుటుంబంలో గుంటూరు జిల్లా పొన్నెనలు గ్రామంలో
1920 ఫిబ్రవరి 5వ తేదీన జన్మించారు. నాజర్ తండ్రి షేక్ మస్తాన్, తల్లి బీనాబీ.
ప్రాచీన జానపద కళారూపమైన బుర్రకథ ప్రక్రియకు నాజర్ కొత్త మెరుగులు దిద్దారు.
పల్నాటి యుద్ధం, వీరాభిమన్యు, బొబ్బిలి యుద్ధం. అల్లూరి సీతారామరాజు, బెంగాల్ కరువు వంటి ఇతి వృత్తాలలో సమకాలీన అంశాలు జతచేసి నాజర్ బుర్రకథలు రూపొందించారు.
నాజర్ చేసిన కృషిని గుర్తించి భారత ప్రభుత్వం 1986లో పద్మశ్రీ పురస్కారంతో సత్కరించింది.
నాజర్ 1997 ఫిబ్రవరి 21వ తేదీన మరణించారు.
షేక్ నాజర్ తన జీవితకథను తానే చెప్పుకున్నట్లుగా అంగడాల రమణమూర్తి.
చరిత్రాత్మకమైన ఈ కథకు ‘పింజరి‘ అని పేరు పెట్టాడు.
